Headstone for Chicago police officer killed in 1915 replaced

A new headstone for Officer John Burke, who was killed on-duty in 1915.

A missing headstone on the grave of a Chicago police officer killed over 100-years ago was replaced Sunday.

A memorial ceremony was held at Mount Olivet Cemetery on the South Side.

Officer John Burke was killed in the line of duty back in December 1915 just days before his 29th birthday. His headstone was stolen last June.

The Chicago Police Memorial Foundation paid to have a new marker made.
