3 charged in Boystown attack, robbery

CHICAGO (WLS) -- Three men were charged Saturday for allegedly attacking and robbing a man in Chicago's Boystown area in the Lakeview neighborhood.

The incident happened Saturday morning on West Melrose Street near North Halsted Street.

The men allegedly beat a 64-year-old victim and then took his wallet and phone, police said.

A good Samaritan saw the victim and called police. The victim sustained non-life-threatening injuries, police said.

The three suspects were caught a short time later.

The men charged in the robbery are Damien Richardson, 21, of Calumet City; Keyruni, Buford, 23, of Chicago; and Vonsean Williams, 21, of Chicago.
