Homewood family mourns college student fatally shot in North Carolina

GREENSBORO, N.C. (WLS) -- A 19-year-old college student from south suburban Homewood was one of two students who were shot Sunday morning at a North Carolina party, authorities said.

Alisia Dieudonne graduated from Homewood Flossmoor High School in 2015. Family members said she was overjoyed when she was accepted to college.

Dieudonne was one of two students shot and killed at an off-campus party at North Carolina A&T State University around 2 a.m. Sunday. The other victim has been identified as Amhad Campbell, 21, of Kittrell, N.C.

Greensboro police said there was a fight outside the party before shots were fired. They victims were inside the home. Investigators said they were not involved in the fight.

Dieudonne was a sophomore at the college, majoring in computer science.

The shooting has left her mother, father and step father heartbroken. They can't believe she is gone and didn't expect her to go away to school and become a victim of gun violence.

"I wish this on no one. No one at all," said her mother, Mary Dieudonne.

"Parents could devote such time in raising their children and to have others totally neglect theirs, to the point where you randomly shoot at a house and kill two people inside of it, it just doesn't make sense," said her father, Harold Dieudonne.

No one has been arrested in connection with the shooting.
