Heroic pug saves family from electrical fire in Idaho

MERIDIAN, Idaho -- An entire city in Idaho plans to honor a dog as its hometown hero. Jaxson is an 11-year-old pug who authorities say recently saved his family from an electrical fire.

That's why he's wearing that honorary firefighter badge around his neck.

Jaxson's owner says his fur baby definitely came to the rescue.

"I kinda listened and I noticed sparks coming from the outlet, and Jaxson was literally barking at the outlet, notifying me something was wrong," his owner said.

Jaxson's owner used a fire extinguisher to knock down the fire.

The city of Meridian plans to present Jaxson with his award later Tuesday.
