Chef shares Hispanic heritage through food
Chef Anaxi Ayala is blending foods from Argentina, Mexico, Columbia and Peru with his catering company Cocina Fusion.

CHICAGO (WLS) -- October is Hispanic Heritage Month, and one Chicago chef is sharing a taste of his culture through food.

Chef Anaxi Ayala is blending foods from Argentina, Mexico, Colombia and Peru with his catering company Cocina Fusion.

Chef Ayala moved to the U.S. in 1998 to fulfill his dream of becoming a chef. He also accomplished another goal, becoming a citizen. Now there is just one thing left he can't wait to do.

"Because I'm going to vote, I'm going to vote this year," Ayala said.

Ayala said his idea for fusing these different types of food together comes from his own life. He is from Mexico and his wife is from Colombia.
