ABC7 Chicago partners with League of Women Voters, Univision Chicago for US Senate debate, 2 US congressional debates

CHICAGO (WLS) -- ABC7Chicago, the station that has broadcast candidate debates for more than two decades, will partner with the League of Women Voters of Illinois and Univision Chicago for three debates this election season. Candidates in the race for U.S. Senate from Illinois as well as Illinois' 8th and 10th Congressional Districts will square off in the debates.

The U.S. Senate debate, between incumbent Senator Mark Kirk (R) and challenger Rep. Tammy Duckworth (D), will be held at ABC 7 on Friday, November 4 at 7 PM. It will air commercial free on ABC 7 at 10:35 PM November 4. It will air live on ABC 7 digital channel 7.2, abc7chicago.com and the ABC 7 Chicago News app at 7pm November 4.

Univision Chicago will air the Senate debate Sunday, November 6 at 10:00 AM on WGBO Channel 66 and on Univision America 1200 AM.

The 30-minute Congressional debates will air commercial free on ABC 7, Sunday, October 23 at 4 PM (8th District) and at 4:30 PM (10th District) preceding ABC 7's 5 PM newscast.

The debate will be made available to stations throughout Illinois via the Illinois Broadcasters Association.

Univision Chicago will also air the Congressional debates on Sunday, October 23, beginning at 10:00 AM. The debates will also air on Univision America 1200 AM.

Vote 2016: The U.S. Senate Debate will feature incumbent Senator Mark Kirk (R) squaring off with challenger Rep. Tammy Duckworth (D). ABC 7 Anchor/Reporter Kathy Brock will moderate. She will be joined by ABC 7 Political Reporter Charles Thomas and Univision Chicago's Erika Maldonado. The one-hour debate airs commercial free on ABC 7 at 10:35 PM November 4. It will air live on ABC 7 digital channel 7.2, abc7chicago.com and the ABC 7 Chicago News app at 7pm November 4.

Vote 2016: The 8th Congressional District Debate will be held between businessman Raja Krishnamoorthi (D) and DuPage County Board Commissioner Peter DiCianni (R). ABC 7 Anchor/Reporter Alan Krashesky and Univision Chicago's Enrique Rodriguez moderate. It will air on ABC 7 on Sunday, October 23 at 4 PM.

Vote 2016: The 10th Congressional District Debate will be held between current U.S. representative Robert Dold (R) and challenger, former U.S. Representative Brad Schneider (D). ABC 7's Kathy Brock and Univision Chicago's Enrique Rodriguez will moderate. It will air on ABC 7 on Sunday, October 23 at 4:30 PM.

The Congressional debates will be taped at ABC 7 Chicago on Saturday, October 22. The taping for the 8th Congressional District will begin at 11:00 AM. The taping for the 10th Congressional District will begin at 1:00 PM. Both the debates will be streamed live on abc7chicago.com and the ABC 7 Chicago News App on October 22 at the time of their tapings.

All three debates are produced by ABC 7 Eyewitness News in collaboration with the League of Women Voters of Illinois and Univision Chicago. They will all be available on demand at abc7chicago.com and the ABC 7 Chicago News app.
