CHICAGO (WLS) --Members of the Chicago Company of Hamilton joined Cook County Clerk David Orr on Friday to encourage people to register to vote.
Hamilton company members Samantha Ware and Miguel Cervantes were at the PrivateBank Theatre convincing people to step inside and register.
"Decisions now that will absolutely affect us now and in the foreseeable future," said Cervantes.
The group was able to check voters' registration status at tables in the theatre lobby and help non-registered people register online.
Voter registration is breaking records in Chicago and Cook County, according to the Cook County's Clerk.
"It's definitely high," said County Clerk David Orr. "Both the City of Chicago and County of Cook are going to break records."
