CHICAGO (WLS) -- Chicago Police and the Illinois Department of Children and Family Services are investigating the death of a 3-year-old boy who died Monday morning in the city's West Pullman neighborhood.

Police said they received an emergency call a little before 8:30 a.m. for a boy not breathing near West 122nd Street and South Green Street. The boy was taken to Roseland Hospital where he was pronounced dead.

Police said the boy had visible signs of abuse to his body. DCFS said they are investigating the parents of the boy for allegations of abuse, and that they had no prior contact with the family.
