1 critically injured in shooting outside Truman College

CHICAGO (WLS) -- Chicago police said a 24-year-old man was shot outside Harry S. Truman College in the city's Uptown neighborhood Monday night.

The shooting happened around 7 p.m. near the intersection of West Wilson Avenue and North Racine Avenue. Police said a dark-colored SUV pulled up and someone inside opened fire, striking he man. He was shot in the right-back torso and taken to Illinois Masonic in serious to critical condition.

A police investigation is ongoing. Police said the victim had gang ties.
