CHICAGO (WLS) -- ABC7 Chicago, the station that has broadcast candidate debates for more than two decades, partnered with the League of Women Voters of Illinois and Univision Chicago for the U.S. Senate debate.

Candidates in the race for U.S. Senate squared off in the hour-long VOTE 2016: The U.S. Senate Debate, moderated by ABC7 Anchor/Reporter Kathy Brock, joined by ABC7 Political Reporter Charles Thomas and Univision Chicago's Erika Maldonado.

The U.S. Senate debate, between incumbent Senator Mark Kirk (R) and challenger Rep. Tammy Duckworth (D), was held at ABC7 on Friday, November 4 at 7 p.m. It will air commercial free on ABC7 from 10:35-11:35 PM Friday, November 4 and will be featured LIVE at 7 pm on ABC 7 digital channel 7.2 (Comcast 217, RCN 618, WOW! 219, Charter 608 and Mediacom 723). The debate will also be presented LIVE at 7 p.m. on abc7chicago.com and the ABC 7 Chicago News app at 7 p.m., November 4.

VOTE 2016: THE U.S. SENATE DEBATE will be made available to stations throughout Illinois via the Illinois Broadcasters Association.

Univision Chicago will air the Senate debate Sunday, November 6 at 10 a.m. on WGBO Channel 66 and on Univision America 12 a.m.

8TH CONGRESSIONAL DISTRICT DEBATE

Vote 2016: The 8th Congressional District Debate was held between businessman Raja Krishnamoorthi (D) and DuPage County Board Commissioner Peter DiCianni (R). ABC 7 Anchor/Reporter Alan Krashesky and Univision Chicago's Enrique Rodriguez moderated. It will air on ABC 7 on Sun., Oct. 23 at 4 p.m.

Krishnamoorthis and DiCianni discussed a number of topics during the debate including their stances on healthcare, minimum wage and immigration. The candidates were also given an opportunity to question each other.

10TH CONGRESSIONAL DISTRICT DEBATE

Vote 2016: The 10th Congressional District Debate was held between current U.S. representative Robert Dold (R) and challenger, former U.S. Representative Brad Schneider (D). ABC 7's Kathy Brock and Univision Chicago's Enrique Rodriguez will moderate. It will air on ABC 7 on Sun., Oct. 23 at 4:30 p.m.

Dold and Schneider covered several topics during the debate including college debt, gun control and immigration reform. The candidates were also given the opportunity to ask each other a question.

The Congressional debates were taped at ABC 7 Chicago on Saturday, October 22. The taping for the 8th Congressional District began at 11 a.m. The taping for the 10th Congressional District began at 1 p.m. Both the debates were streamed live on abc7chicago.com and the ABC 7 Chicago News App on October 22 at the time of their tapings.
