ARLINGTON HEIGHTS, Ill. (WLS) -- The Arlington Heights police wants the public's help identifying two suspects in connection to a burglary that was caught on video.

The burglary happened on Nov. 3 around 3 a.m. at the Subway restaurant on Euclid Avenue near Route 53.

According to police, the offenders used a pickup truck, stolen from Mount Prospect, Ill., to drive through the front window of the Subway. Police said the two offenders then entered the restaurant and stole many items, including an undisclosed amount of money. The vehicle was later found in Hanover Park, Ill.

The Subway restaurant was boarded up Friday afternoon and the franchise owner told ABC 7 that the thieves were in and out in about a minute. The video shows how quickly it happened.

The crime was the talk of the hair salon next door.

"They knew what they were doing. It's a scary thing and unfortunately people don't care about the outcomes of somebody's store," Maggie Seames, a stylist at DeCarlo's Hair Designs said.

Police released still images of two of the thieves, both had their faces covered. The video suggests a third offender was behind the wheel of that truck.

Though this type of crime is hardly new, this theft comes as retailers are preparing for the busy holiday shopping season when inventories are high--an enticing target for thieves.

"I feel like they were scoping him out or something," Seames said. "We hear about these heists in Chicago that people kind of do that, so seeing it done right here was really scary.

The franchise owner said the thieves got away with about $1,000 in cash. Damage to the restaurant is estimated at around$50,000 to $60,000 but the franchise does have insurance.
