Body found in LaPorte wildlife area launches death investigation

LAPORTE, Ind. (WLS) -- LaPorte County officials are conducting a death investigation after a body was discovered Friday at Kingsbury Fish and Wildlife Area in LaPorte, Indiana.

The LaPorte County Sheriff's Department and Indiana Conservation officers responded to a body found near Tracy Road west of First Line Road in LaPorte.

Detectives are still not sure what the cause of death is. The autopsy results have not been released. Foul play has not been ruled out, officials said.

The victim is described as a white male with long brown hair in a ponytail. He has tattoos on both forearms as well as the name "Zachary" on his right upper arm. The victim was dressed in Wrangler blue jeans, a black Carhartt jacket with a hood and black and white Nike Air Max tennis shoes.
