KENOSHA, Wis. (WLS) -- Imagine millions of people ordering from one site on one day. That is what companies like Amazon.com prepare for each year on Cyber Monday.

It's a very busy day at the Amazon Fulfillment Center in Kenosha, Wis.

Last year, Amazon customers ordered 54 million items worldwide. This year, Amazon hopes to top that.

"This is the busiest day of the year for us. We expect to have over 630 orders per second that are coming through here. We've been planning for months," said Mike Stone, the general manager of the facility.

New deals will be popping up on Amazon every five minutes. Some of the hottest items on Amazon, the Kindle and Fire, a new and improved Elmo for the kids, the popular Kitchenaid mixer and more.

If you can't sit in front of a computer all day, there is a much easier way to keep an eye on that big ticket item.

"We also have a great deal called watch a deal through the Amazon mobile shopping app," said Kelsey Richards of Amazon. "You can select an upcoming deal to watch and you'll get a notification on your app when that deal is about to go live."

Folks like Ann O'Bryan will make sure your items get to you on time. She looks forward to this season.

"Through the holiday season it's very exciting you get to see all of the new items coming through and that is bringing smiles to everyone," O'Bryan said.

It's not just about shopping. Holiday online shopping online also means for thousands of people looking for work during the holiday season.
