CHICAGO (WLS) -- More Chicago Public Schools students now have access to art programs at school, Mayor Rahm Emanuel's office said.

This comes nearly four years after Mayor Emanuel launched a plan to improve art education. About two-thirds of all CPS students attend a school either ranked strong or excelling for art proficiency.

Meanwhile, nearly 90-percent of students across all grades have access to classes including theater, dance music media or visual arts with partners including The Joffrey Ballet, Chicago Symphony Orchestra and others.
