Broken crane blocking 2 SB lanes of Lake Shore Drive near North Avenue

CHICAGO (WLS) -- A broken crane is blocking two southbound lanes of North Lake Shore Drive just south of North Avenue.

Chicago Department of Transportation officials said crews are working to remove the equipment as soon as possible, but drivers should expect delays during the Wednesday evening rush.

The crane was being used to perform maintenance work on Lake Shore Drive, officials said.
