Man, 64, fatally struck while crossing street in Avondale

CHICAGO (WLS) -- Police ticketed a driver who they said struck and killed a 64-year-old man on Chicago's Northwest Side.

That man was crossing the street just before midnight at North Pulaski Road and West Melrose Street in the city's Avondale neighborhood.

Officers said the 31-year-old driver didn't yield at a stop sign and hit the man.

The victim's name has not been released.
