NEW YORK -- Police are investigating disturbing allegations of a sex assault within a Brooklyn school, and a pair of students are now facing charges.

Authorities say a 17-year-old girl with a learning disability was lured by a group of male students Monday to a bathroom at PS 165 in Brownsville, where she was forced to perform a sex act on one of the boys. Other students allegedly watched, and one may have even recorded the incident on his cell phone.

The victim eventually told her friends what had happened, and school officials and police were notified.

Now, a 15-year-old boy has been charged with sexual abuse, forcible touching and unlawful imprisonment, and a 14-year-old boy has been charged with sex abuse and forcible touching.

The victim was not hospitalized, and an order of protection has been issued that bars the two boys from having any contact with her.

"This incident is deeply troubling, and we are working closely with the NYPD as they conduct an investigation," the Department of Education said in a statement. "Nothing is more important than the safety of students and staff, and we are ensuring that it is swiftly addressed. This was immediately reported, families have been notified, and we are providing the school with additional supports."

The suspects appeared in Brooklyn Family Court and are now back in the custody of their parents.
