2 charged in deadly South Holland armed robbery

SOUTH HOLLAND, Ill. (WLS) -- Two men have been charged in connection with a deadly shooting at a Boost Mobile store in South Holland.

DeAngelo Parker and Floyd Bell are charged with first degree murder and armed robbery. Bell was taken into custody shortly after the shooting and Parker was captured the next day. Prosecutors said both men have criminal histories.

"DeAngelo Parker has 18 total arrests. Arrests stemming from assault, obstructing justice, and a sexual assault arrest. Currently, DeAngelo Parker is a registered sex offender," said Lt. Shawn Staples, South Holland Police Dept. "Floyd Bell has a total of eight arrests stemming from assault and invasion of privacy."

Christopher Lloyd, 45, of Gary, Ind., was in the store Tuesday afternoon when police said two armed robbers walked in around 2 p.m. The robbers forced them into the back of the store with the clerk, who was ordered to open a safe.

As the clerk struggled with the lock, police said Lloyd went after the gun of one of the robbers. During the struggle, Lloyd was shot and killed.

Parker is being held without bond. Bell was given a $750,000 bond.
