LOMBARD, Ill. (WLS) -- Two men have been charged with stealing a Salvation Army bucket outside an Ultra Foods in suburban Lombard, police said.

Kavin Gipson, 48, and Roosevelt Huddleston, 51, allegedly approached the bucket while the bucket ringer was inside the store Thursday around 7 p.m. Gipson then took the bucket while Huddleston acted as a lookout, police said.

The men then allegedly fled the store in a car Gipson was driving, which led to a high-speed chase through a residential area, police said. Both men were caught and taken into custody.

Gipson has been charged with aggravated fleeing and eluding, while Huddleston faces one count of felony theft. Both are due in bond court Dec. 30.
