Pedestrian fatally struck by Metra train
Metra Milwaukee District West trains are stopped in both directions at Bartlett after officials said a pedestrian was struck and killed.

BARTLETT, Ill. (WLS) -- Two pedestrians were struck by Metra trains in the west suburbs Monday morning. One of those pedestrians was killed.

The first incident occurred near the Bartlett station along the Milwaukee District West line. Inbound Train No. 2212 struck a pedestrian around 6:40 a.m. The victim has not been identified. Trains were stopped in both directions for about two hours.

The second incident occurred near the Villa Park station along the Union Pacific West line. Inbound Train No. 44 struck a pedestrian around 11:20 a.m. No details about the victim's condition have been released.

UP-W trains are stopped in both directions. There is no word on when trains will begin moving again.
