2 shot while driving with dog in Chicago Lawn
Two people were shot early Thursday morning while driving with their dog in the city's Chicago Lawn neighborhood.

CHICAGO (WLS) -- Two people were shot early Thursday morning while driving with their dog in the city's Chicago Lawn neighborhood.

A 36-year-old man and a 30-year-old woman were heading east in an SUV in the 2800-block of West 59th Street around 12:10 a.m. when they heard gunfire and realized they had been shot.

They pulled over near West 62nd Street and South California Avenue. The man had been shot in the head and chest. The woman was shot in the right shoulder.

They were both transported to Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn, where the man is listed in critical condition and the woman's condition stabilized.

Area Central detectives are handling the investigation. No one is in custody.
