Our Drone at Dawn captured the sunrise in suburban Elmhurst Monday morning.

ELMHURST, Ill. (WLS) -- Our Drone at Dawn captured the sunrise in suburban Elmhurst Monday morning.

The drone flew over the Wilder Mansion and the Veterans Memorial in Wilder Park.

It's a busy summer there with events including the Elmhurst Cycling Classic and a four-mile race on the Fourth of July, the Garden Club's Garden Walk and Faire, Downtown Elmhurst's fun-filled Rock the Block event, Elmhurst College's June Jazz event, Music at the Gazebo on Spring Road, the summer reading program at the Elmhurst Public Library, and the Farmers Market on Wednesday mornings through the end of October.

Elmhurst was incorporated in 1882. The city has award-winning amenities, including The Elmhurst History Museum is situated in the historic Glos Mansion. The Museum Campus in Wilder Park is home to the Elmhurst Art Museum, the Lizzadro Museum of Lapidary Art and the Wilder Mansion and Conservatory. Museum Day in May is a free afternoon at Elmhurst's museums.

You can explore Elmhurst by a free trolley, with service running Fridays and Saturdays from June 2 through September.

Elmhurst maintains 28 parks and and two pools Norman P. Smalley Pool and East End Pool and a splash pad at the HUB in Beren's Park and provides programming for kids of all ages.

Elmhurst College is west of the Elmhurst City Centre and features lectures, athletics, concerts and special events. Elmhurst is home to Community Unit School District 205 which recently ranked 18th in Illnois by U.S. News & World Report.
