Chicago beaches open Friday

CHICAGO (WLS) -- It's a sign that summer is almost here. Chicago's beaches officially open Friday.

The ABC7 Drone at Dawn got some amazing shots of North Avenue Beach.

The beaches will be open from 6 a.m. to 11 p.m. each day.

This year, swimmers will get alerts quicker about water quality as new testing is put in place.

Visitors will also notice more police officers on the lakefront.
