CHICAGO -- Brooke Ferricks is the founder, director, and writer for Brooke's Backyard Productions, which gathers neighborhood kids to put on plays and musicals to raise money for those in need.

Brooke has done theater since she was seven years old, and has been in over thirty shows. She has always had a passion for helping others.

In her free time, she listens to Broadway music, play piano, and writes. Brooke decided to use theater as a way to raise money for a friend with cancer.

Since then, she has donated to 'Down in the South' an organization to help those with down syndrome, a neighbor with spina bifida, a girl who was hit by a car and now suffers brain damage, and Brooke is truculently raising money for a family whose house exploded. Brooke does not charge for admission or tickets, instead she asks for at will donations.

Brooke's next production "Over the Rainbow" will be held on June 17 at St. Bernard's Church in Homer Glen at 7:30 PM.
