Police: Victims robbed after withdrawing money from South Side ATM

CHICAGO (WLS) -- Chicago police have issued an alert after people who withdrew money from an ATM were targeted in two recent robberies.

The incidents were reported in the 100-block of West Garfield Boulevard at 1:15 p.m. on June 2 and 12:39 p.m. on June 3, police said.

In both cases, the one or more robbers approached the victims after they withdrew money from an ATM. The robbers took their property before fleeing on foot, police said.

The suspects are described by police as a Black man, 19-23 years old, 5'4 - 5'8", 140-180 pounds with dreadlocks. Police said a female suspect may have been involved.

Police advise people to be aware of their surroundings. Anyone with information is asked to contact the Area Central Bureau of Detective at (312) 747-8382.
