CHICAGO (WLS) -- Chicago police are looking for three suspects after a Friday afternoon carjacking near the Hilton Hotel in the South Loop.

Police said the carjacking happened in the 800-block of South Wabash Avenue at about 5 p.m.

They said the woman was parking her lime green Honda Accord was parking in a garage when she was approached by several unknown males who implied they had a weapon and demanded her keys. She gave them over and they took off in her car, police said.

"I worked for Columbia College for 11 years and I parked my car at the Hilton and I always felt safe in the area, but, this makes me rethink it," said Mary Mathews, who was visiting from out of town.

Area Central detectives are investigating. Police said the woman was not from Chicago and was visiting the city.

Further south in the neighborhood, police are investigating at least seven robberies in the last three weeks, primarily targeting bike riders.

Police say residents and visitors should be vigilant and aware of their surroundings.
