CHICAGO (WLS) -- We're nearing the starting line for a 5k race helping to end homelessness across the Chicago area. The 7th Annual Run to End Homelessness is the largest fundraising event for A Safe Haven. The organization provides services for an average of 5,000 people in need each year; offering housing, treatment, education and job training services. Every dollar raised from the Run to End Homelessness supports the programs.

The race also features a free fun run for kids 12 years and younger. You can take part in the 7th Annual Run to End Homelessness on July 15, 2017 at Montrose Harbor. The fun starts at 8:30am.
