Lions Clubs International is celebrating 100 years of service in the city where it all started. The organization started in Chicago back in 1917. It's now grown to the world's largest service club organization, with 1.4 million members in 200 countries and geographic areas. While Lions are known for their work with the blind and visually impaired, the organization also focuses on hunger relief, youth mentoring, protecting the environment, disaster relief, and diabetes awareness and education.

To celebrate a century of good work, Lions from around the world are coming to Chicago for a celebration. Lions Clubs International are hosting a convention on June 30 - July 4, 2017 at McCormick Place. Also, on July 1 beginning at 9:00am, there will be a parade on State Street between Wacker and VanBuren. Bob Corlew, the President of Lions Clubs International, visited the ABC 7 State Street Studios to talk about the parade, convention, and the mission for the organization.
