Chicago woman celebrates 104th birthday

CHICAGO (WLS) -- Josephine Glynn of Chicago celebrated her 104th birthday on July 4. She was born in Mississippi in 1913.

Glynn met and married her husband after she moved to Detroit. They moved to Chicago in the 1960s. Her husband worked at a steel mill and Glynn used her skills as a seamstress and hat maker to create clothes for others and herself.

Although they had no children of their own, the couple became foster parents for five years. Glynn's caretakers said the children who lived in their neighborhood appreciated the love and compassion they showed them.

Glynn's caretakers said she is known for her playful spirit and great attitude. She posed on the pool table for fun during her birthday, even though she's never played pool or even picked up a stick.
