Bud Billiken Scholarship gala held Thursday night

CHICAGO (WLS) -- The Bud Billiken Scholarship gala was held Thursday.

The theme was the 1930's and 40's.

The gala highlights the accomplishments of young scholarship award recipients and honors hometown heroes.

Eyewitness News reporter Leah Hope was the emcee of Thursday night's event, which is organized by the Chicago Defender Charities.
