New play tackles racial tension around police shootings

CHICAGO (WLS) -- Stage 773 in Chicago has a new play addressing the racial tensions and challenges surrounding police shootings in the U.S.

"Low-Hanging Fruit" tells the story of an interracial group of friends who are torn apart after one of them, a white police officer, shoots an unarmed black teenager. Fearless Fiction Productions is putting on the play August 12-13, 2017.

Low-Hanging Fruit was written and directed by playwright Dane A. Campbell. He sat down with Eyewitness News to talk about his new play and what he hopes its message will accomplish.
