Metra train movement briefly halted at Union Station

CHICAGO (WLS) -- Metra trains were stopped in both directions for a short time Friday morning near Chicago Union Station.

Issues with the Amtrak computer dispatching system, which controls train movement in and out of Union Station, caused signal problems. The first outage occurred just before 8 a.m. The second outage occurred between 8:15 a.m. and 8:38 a.m.

Metra trains were stopped just after 8:30 a.m. Once the signal problems were resolved, trains stated moving again around 8:50 a.m. with 15-25 minute delays.
