Diamond-encrusted medals to be given away at Hot Chocolate Race
Racers who cross the finish line at this year's Hot Chocolate 5K/15K race could walk away with some serious bling.

CHICAGO (WLS) -- The Hot Chocolate 5K/15K Race is celebrating 10 years in Chicago! It returns October 29, 2017.

Racers who cross the finish line could walk away with some serious bling. The traditional Hot Chocolate 15K race medal that looks like a foil-wrapped chocolate bar now has 150 single-cut accent diamonds added to it for the special giveaway.

The glitzy anniversary medals will go to ten runners randomly selected by Make-A-Wish after registration closes in October. Participants increase their chances of earning the diamond medals in any of seven different ways including by raising money for Make-A-Wish.

A random draw from both 5K and 15K registrants also determines who receives one of the 500 super premium key chains shaped like Chicago's iconic "Bean" sculpture that feature one diamond embedded in each of the gifts.
