In the floodwater left behind by Harvey, a Houston woman found a family's photo album.

In the city's Memorial neighborhood, Lauren Thompson Miller found the album floating by. She tried drying out the pages and sought to reunite the personal treasure with its owner.

"This is what really got me," Thompson Miller said as she pointed to the damaged photos. "'Our beautiful baby Natalie Claire.' In 1994 you didn't have a digital copy of your photos."

Based on the handwritten notes on the mostly unrecognizable photos, the album was determined to be about 23 years old. She used the date of a baby christening - Aug. 20, 1994 - to help determine the age.

Using social media, Thompson Miller found the owner -- Margaret Chenier. She said she never thought she would find the album.

The ink on the album notes has run, the pages are stained, but they're memories - marked with a permanent reminder of how they returned.
