Women targeted in string of robberies on NW Side, police say

CHICAGO (WLS) -- Police are warning people on Chicago's Northwest Side about a string of robberies that happened between Wednesday and Sunday in Chicago's Logan Square and Avondale neighborhoods.

Police said most victims of these robberies were women walking alone.

The nine reported robberies happened in the middle of the afternoon and at night. In a few of the robberies, the offenders showed victims a handgun, police said.

Five of the robberies had two offenders, one robbery had three offenders, and another robbery had eight offenders, police said.
