32nd Annual Hunger Walk
September is Hunger Action Month, and organizations around the country are doing their part to feed those in need.

CHICAGO (WLS) -- September is Hunger Action Month, and organizations around the country are doing their part to feed those in need. On September 16, 2017 more than 12,000 people attended the Greater Chicago Food Depository's 32nd Annual Hunger Walk. The event supported the nonprofit's network of more than 700 food pantries, soup kitchens, shelters and programs that distribute food across the Chicago area. In 2016, the Greater Chicago Food Depository (http://www.chicagosfoodbank.org) distributed around 70 million pounds of food; but the need for many families remains. The Hunger Walk hopes to raise funding and awareness for the issue, utilizing a family-friendly morning of activities, live entertainment and a walking course through Jackson Park. Paul Morello from the Greater Chicago Food Depository joined ABC 7 live from the event.
