ELTON JOHN

The legend that is Elton John is hanging up his tiara and decided to quit touring. He's launching his "Farewell Yellow Brick Road Tour" as a thank you to fans in September. He's been in Chicago October 26 and 27 at United Center. Tickets go on sale Friday, February 2, 2019 at Ticketmaster.com. Tickets will run $60-$250 and VIP packages will also be available. MERYL STREEP

Clutch the pearls, the Oscar winner has signed on to star in HBO's Emmy award-winning series, "Big Little Lies." She will play the mother of Alexander Skarsgard's character, Perry. She'll star along with Nicole Kidman, Reese Witherspoon and Laura Dern. Season 2 will be 7 episodes and return sometime in 2019. The plot is unknown as Season 1 was based on the book by the same name and the book ended where Season 1 ended. Hmmmmm?

"TOOTSIE"

A new musical is coming to Chicago BEFORE it heads to Broadway. "Tootsie," a new comedy musical will play The Cadillac Palace Theatre from Sept 11 - Oct 14 before heading to Broadway in spring 2019. Dustin Hoffman starred in the role in the film playing actor Michael Dorsey who struggles to find work and becomes Dorothy Michaels. Starring in the show is Santino Fontana. Audiences will know him as the voice of Prince Hans in the animated hit, "Frozen." He also performed with Tina Fey and Amy Poehler in the film "Sisters," and on the CW series "Crazy Ex-girlfriend." Tickets go on sale soon.
