3 women escape Englewood house fire

CHICAGO (WLS) -- A blaze on Chicago's South Side forced three women from their home.

Police encountered heavy flames when they arrived in the 5700-block of South LaSalle Street in the city's Englewood neighborhood around 10:20 p.m. Monday.

Officers were able to alert the three women inside the house. They escaped safely as flames shot out of the second floor.

Firefighters were able to extinguish the blaze two hours later. No one was injured.

Bomb and arson investigators are looking into the cause of the fire.
