CHICAGO (WLS) -- A 3-year-old boy was seriously injured Monday evening in a hit-and-run in the city's Chicago Lawn neighborhood on the Southwest Side.
At about 6:15 p.m., Patrick Zbylut was walking in a crosswalk with his family near West 63rd Street and South Natchez Avenue, police said. The boy sustained a brain trauma and was on a ventilator at Loyola University Medical Center.
"They were walking over to our house so we could go all together trick-or-treating," said Thomas Rykala, the boy's uncle.
The car continued west on 63rd Street from Natchez, then turned onto Harlem Avenue.
Police canvassed the neighborhood Tuesday night, searching for information about the driver.
The vehicle is described as an older-model, beige or tan 4-door, possibly a Toyota Corolla, police said.
Anyone with information should call the Major Accident Investigation Unit at (312) 745-4521.
