CHICAGO (WLS) -- A 2-year-old girl was critically injured after being hit by a car Sunday night in the Englewood neighborhood.

A 19-year-old woman was behind the wheel of a Dodge Charger traveling on South Carpenter Street near 60th Street at about 9 p.m. when the little girl ran into the street from between two parked cars and was hit by the Charger, police said. The Charger then crashed into a parked car before coming to a stop.

The 2-year-old girl was transported to Comer Children's Hospital in critical condition, police said.

The driver of the Charger was ticketed for not having insurance or a driver's license.
