CHICAGO (WLS) -- A longtime ABC 7 photographer is being remembered by friends and colleagues.

Rolando Banda was the camera operator in Chopper7 from 2001 until 2013. He died Sunday night at the age of 57.

"We worked together for over a dozen years bringing important traffic information to our morning newscast. His keen eye, attention to detail and news savvy made the am rush easier to manage for so many. Beyond that, he was a kind, caring person who would go out of his way to help you. We will miss you Rolando, and your beautiful smile," ABC 7 traffic anchor Roz Varon wrote in a tribute on Facebook.

Banda lived in Bolingbrook and grew up in Chicago with his three siblings. He is survived by his wife, Carolyn, and their six children.
