1 dead after Metra train strikes car

CHICAGO (WLS) -- A man is dead after a car was struck by a Metra train Sunday, according to a tweet from Metra Rock Island.

According to the tweet, a Metra Rock Island train headed to the LaSalle Street Station was stopped after the vehicle was struck. Metra Police said the accident happened between 119th Street and Wood Street.

Officials have confirmed that the victim was a 30-year-old man.
