Group sues Chicago over lack of housing for people with disabilities
Access Living of Metropolitan Chicago alleges that the city of Chicago has not provided affordable housing for people with disabilities.

CHICAGO (WLS) -- A group is suing Chicago, accusing the city of not providing enough affordable housing to people with disabilities over the last three decades.

Access Living of Metropolitan Chicago filed a federal lawsuit that claims that tens of thousands of units, built over decades, were not accessible to people with disabilities.

As a result, people have been forced into nursing homes and homeless shelters instead.

The city of Chicago did not respond to a request for comment on Monday.
