VALPARAISO, Ind. (WLS) -- An animal shelter is searching for the person who abandoned a cat outside their northwest Indiana facility on Wednesday.
This 15-pound cat was found crammed into an undersized carrier in 80-degree temperatures outside the Porter County Animal Shelter in Valparaiso.
Shelter officials say he was overheated and could have suffocated, but is doing better.
It is against the law to abandon animals outside of a shelter.
