4 injured when car slams into Dunkin' Donuts in Evanston
Four people were injured July 30, 2017 when a car slammed into a Dunkin' Donuts in Evanston.

EVANSTON, Ill. (WLS) -- A car slammed into an Evanston Dunkin Donuts Sunday morning, injuring several people inside, police said.

Police said the 56-year-old driver thought he was in reverse, but was in drive and crashed into the store in the 1900-block of Dempster Street at about 10:10 a.m.. police said.

Four people inside the store were injured, police said. Three people suffered minor glass injuries and were not hospitalized and the fourth person was transported to St. Francis Hospital with an ankle injury.

Police are investigating.
