Pregnant woman injured in CPD-involved crash
A pregnant woman is among those injured in a car crash involving a CPD squad car in Bronzeville, officials say.

CHICAGO (WLS) -- A Chicago Fire Department spokesman says a pregnant woman and three Chicago police officers were injured when a squad car collided with two civilian vehicles at 41st and King Drive.

The woman, who is eight months pregnant, was transported to Mercy Hospital, fire officials said. Officials say the woman was a passenger in one of the two civilian vehicles. Her car was hit by an SUV that Chicago police were pursuing.

The woman's mother says her daughter is being treated for her injuries and is expected to recover.

The CPD car is an unmarked squad car typically driven by the gang unit and tactical teams. The three officers were taken to Little Company of Mary with non-life threatening injuries.

Officials say two people were taken into custody after the accident. Police have not commented on why the squad car was chasing the SUV.
