4 robberies in South Loop this week

CHICAGO (WLS) -- Police are investigating four robberies have hit the South Loop neighborhood, particularly around Chinatown, this week, police said.

The most recent robbery occurred shortly before 1 a.m. Friday in the 1900-block of South Wells Street.

The victims told police that the robbers walked up behind them, hit them in the head with something and then took their belongings.

The other robberies occurred at 4:20 a.m. Thursday in the 200-block of West Cullerton Street, 11:55 p.m. Sunday in the 2000-block of South Wells and 11 p.m. Sunday in the 2400-block of South Stewart Avenue.

Police are looking for a Black man and a possibly Hispanic woman. The man is between 5-feet-8-inches and 5-feet-11-inches tall and about 160-165 pounds. The woman was described to police as being between 5-feet-5-inches tall and 5-feet-8-inches tall and 200 pounds.
