CHICAGO (WLS) -- A fourth person now faces charges in the shooting death of a 9-year-old boy in the Grand Crossing neighborhood.

Paris Denard is charged with first-degree murder, in Antonio Smith's death last month.

Derrick Allmon, Jabari Williams and Michael Baker are also charged.

Investigators say the four thought Smith was warning a rival gang.

"All four of the defendants gave statements admitting their involvement in this case," said Cook County State's Attorney Anita Alvarez. "The gun, it was recovered, after being told where to find it by one of the defendants and it was tested by the Illinois State Police crime lab and found to in fact be the murder weapon."

Alvarez talked about the shooting during a domestic violence conference at the UIC Forum.
