HAMMOND, Ind. (WLS) -- Police are searching for a man who allegedly assaulted and robbed an 84-year-old man while walking on a train platform in Hammond, police said.
The victim said he had purchased a newspaper from the station, in the 4500-block of Hohman Avenue, and was walking along the platform when he was allegedly assaulted and robbed of his wallet, police said.
The victim described the offender as a tall, black male between his mid-twenties and early thirties. The victim said the offender allegedly ran south on Johnson Avenue after the incident, police said.
The victim suffered minor injuries during the attack, but declined any medical treatment, officials said.
