ABC News' Gio Benitez gets engaged in Paris
ABC News correspondent Gio Benitez is getting married after a fairytale proposal in the City of Love.
While in Paris with boyfriend Tommy DiDario Thursday, Benitez got on one knee in front of the Eiffel Tower. DiDario said yes, and his shock was caught on camera.
"Time is what's left behind in the wake of love," Benitez wrote in the photo's caption.
The couple saw various sites around Paris like Moulin Rogue and Notre Dame. They came to France after a short stay in Barcelona.
"Today I said yes to my true partner in life," DiDario, an actor and writer, posted on Instagram. "Couldn't be happier to stand next to you forever."
Along with his investigative reporting work for ABC News shows like Good Morning America and 20/20, Benitez is the host of Nightline on Fusion. He was born and raised in Miami and is fluent in Spanish.
